City of Sanctuary

This service provides a supportive environment where you can relax, make friends, and access various resources. A vegetarian lunch is offered during the sessions, and a contribution towards your bus fare is available with proof of your bus ticket. The service also includes signposting to other organisations that can offer additional help and support.


British Red Cross

The British Red Cross can assist you with your immigration case and help you find a solicitor if you do not already have one. They offer support with casework and immigration advice, and can provide dry food and tinned food, as well as baby items and street sleeping goods. They also offer supermarket vouchers for people with no support, help you access education, healthcare, and community groups, and assist with form filling.

Afro Innovation

The Afro Innovation Group is a registered charity aiming to address the very specific needs of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, who face language, employment skills, and social/educational barriers to accessing employment/training to be able to live economically sustainable and integrative lives in the local community.



The Race Equality Centre (TREC)

This voluntary organisation provides advice and support to individuals who are subject to racial harassment or discrimination, either in employment or in the provision of goods, facilities, or services. They offer community development services, a job club, immigration services, and refugee services. Additionally, they engage in policy development, research, and public education and training.

Leicester Welcome Project

Leicester Welcome Project gives immediate practical support to asylum seekers living in & near Leicester, with gifts of food, clothes and toiletries.  The project also tries to help people when they are having difficulties; making phone calls, writing letters, advocating for them, referring them to appropriate organisations and giving informal advice.

Zinthiya Trust

Registered charity offering support to women and families from disadvantaged backgrounds, providing advice on a wide range of issues, including for those who may have found their way into crime, sex work, long term unemployment or those that are homeless or victims of domestic violence or honour based violence.



Shama Women’s Centre

Shama Women’s Centre is a place for the women of Leicester to make friends, learn and reach their full potential. We aim to empower local women from different backgrounds to become socially, educationally and economically active.
